Rev. Bethany Jessop, Director of Christian Education
Bethany is a graduate of McDowell High School, and Westminster College, both in her home state of Pennsylvania. After college, unsure of what to do with her Religion degree, Bethany became a Presbyterian Young Adult Volunteer (YAV) serving with Vanderbilt University’s Presbyterian Student Fellowship in Nashville. After her YAV year, she finally accepted her calling to ministry and has a Master of Divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. She was ordained in 2014 and has previously served as the Director of Youth & Family Ministry at First Presbyterian Church in Bainbridge, Georgia, and as the Youth Ministry Facilitator for Flint River Presbytery.
When “Pastor Bethany” is not sharing the love of Jesus with the children and youth of FPC, she enjoys reading, watching sports with her family, building Legos, baking, photography, and planning her next out of town adventure. She is married to Dan and they have one child and two dogs.
Pastor Bethany typically holds office hours from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday-Thursday, and by appointment.
