First Presbyterian Church has the ministry of Deacons, those who care, nurture, and provide for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of the members and friends of the church. Deacons, like Ruling Elders, are elected by the congregation for a three year term.

The ministry of Deacon as set forth in Scripture is one of compassion, witness, and service, sharing in the redeeming love of Jesus Christ for the poor, the hungry, the sick, the lost, the friendless, the oppressed, those burdened by unjust policies or structures, or anyone in distress. Deacons are to be persons of spiritual character, honest repute, exemplary lives, brotherly and sisterly love, sincere compassion, and sound judgment. —(Book of Order, -G-2.0201)

Mission Statement

Because there is noise everywhere in the new millennium, we at First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg deliver clarity through the Good News of Jesus Christ for believers and those still exploring the faith.

We focus on enhancing relationships with God through blended worship services, Christian education for all ages, a family oriented environment, and community outreach.

In the midst of the noise, come worship with us, grow in faith, and find a place to belong.
